76. Sala Thai Restaurant U Street DC
Three stars on Yelp? Seriously? Cheese, you guys are hard to please.
Well, I have to admit that everyone’s experiences are different. I’ve been to Sala Thai three times so far and all three times I’ve had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the food.
It’s right on the U Street hub, but the clean simple decor almost makes you feel like you’re in a different part of the city.
I have to admit too that I’m the type to find a dish on the menu that I like and have it over and over again. My dish of choice at Sala Thai in Washington DC is their spicy seafood fried rice. [Mild or medium. if you get hot you’re on your own :- ) ]
The seafood fried rice is a spicy mixture of Shrimp, squid, scallops, and basil leaves served with a side of cucumbers. I loved it. It’s my new go to meal on my standard Friday evening U Street walk.
Try it and let me know what you think. All in all, I’d definitely recommend Sala Thai on U Street.
P.S. Check out the live jazz series on Friday and Saturdays.
