{Guest Post from our friends over at Mid City Artists}

Did you know that there’s a zone in NW DC called “Mid City”?  It’s the area  of town from Dupont Circle to Scott Circle and Logan Circle, and North to Florida Ave. NW.  Mid city is host to some of the city’s hottest restaurants, nightclubs, galleries, interior design shops and fashion boutiques, and is also a thriving destination for the arts.

Twenty-one artists with studios in the Mid City area have come together to host their bi-annual “Mid City Artists” Open Studios Tour this weekend on Oct. 22 & 23, from 12-5 PM (some studio times vary).  It’s a fun opportunity for art-lovers to connect personally with artists and learn more about their art– which ranges from art glass, drawings, sculptures, paintings, prints, photographs and mixed media.

Since the art studios are all over the Mid City, I suggest that you go to www.MidCityArtists.com in advance and download the 2011 Fall Open Studios Tour Map, so that you can plan out your afternoon.

Be sure to check out the new Room & Board Home Furnishings Store located at 14th and T St’s NW, which will be showcasing the works of four MCA artists in a special exhibition “A Neighborhood of Art and Home Furnishings” from October 20-23.

After you’ve got your fill of art, go have a bite or a drink at one of the fabulous bars or restaurants in the area.
