#22 DC Bike Tour @ Night with Bike and Roll
What were your new year’s resolutions? If you’re anything like me at least one of them involved getting into better shape and getting out in the city a bit more. Well today’s addition to the list brings two birds to life with one bike. Sorry for the bad analogy, but I never liked the idea of killing birds with stones! :- )
Since it’s starting to warm up a bit, I thought it would be a good time to see the sites in a different way.
On a DC bike tour with the folks @ Bike and Roll. But at night!
This is one experience we haven’t tried yet, but we have a friend that goes almost monthly when the weather is good. She goes on and on (and on…) about how awesome the tour guides are and how much fun it is.
BikeandRoll’s location is in a perfect spot to get to the National Mall. A few short minutes and you’re there. Most people don’t realize how far some of the monuments are from each other, so experiencing them on a bike tour in DC in a small group sounds like a plan to me.
You have to admit that the monuments are awesome by night!
You’ll get to see all the major monuments on this bike tour in Washington DC: The Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, FDR Memorial, the World War II, and even some of the lesser-know ones like the Albert Einstein memorial. At every stop, the tour guide shares some interesting tidbits about the location and you browse around for several minutes before moving on to the next site.
You’ll end up paying about $40 for the 3 hour tour. The price includes the bike/helmet rental, and extras like a bottle of water, a snack, a map, and a souvenir rack. Sounds like a steal to me.
Plus I think the monuments are way cooler by night anyhow. Have a blast!
