20. Get cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake
What’s the second best thing about Georgetown Cupcakes?
Martin Luther King once said “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”
I know, this isn’t a quote you would expect to see in a post about cupcakes.
I think it applies to the folks at Georgetown Cupcakes though. They heard their calling and stepped up to make some of the most delectable cupcakes anywhere on the east coast.
Just imagine the disappointment of looking forward to something awesome, and then when the time comes it doesn’t live up to expectations. It would be like inviting someone to your home and when they get there you close the door in their face.
Well, I personally think the hype around Georgetown cupcakes is well deserved. Matter of fact, here are the
Top 5 reasons to absolutely fall in LOVE with Georgetown cupcakes.
1. Cupcake Texture
Their cupcakes have that fluffy not-quite-sure-we-want-to-melt-in-your-mouth texture. “But if you savor us a bit more, we just might.” Wait for it, wait for it….You know that feeling right? It can’t be just me.
2. The icing on the cake.
Their icing (though they vary by flavor) feels slightly granular in your mouth. I love that! It’s almost like each granule was put in place by little elves whose only job in the world is to make sure the icing is perfect. I mean, do we know that they don’t have little elves working there? They’ve never denied it!
3. The owners are smoking hot!
Seriously, the sisters that started the company are gorgeous. It’s like the elephant in the room that no one wants to touch. Yeah, I said it!
4. They made cupcakes cool in Washington DC
So what if the cupcake phenomenon started in another city? Georgetown Cupcakes were the first little cupcake company in the city and they’ve shown another cool side of DC with their reality show. They do cupcakes with flair in quaint well designed locations, and I love them for that. Props all around!
5. They give generously to the community
Since opening in 2008, Georgetown Cupcake has donated thousands of cupcakes to charitable causes. A company that has made it but isn’t satisfied until the community makes it. What’s not to love?
Check out Georgetown Cupcakes when you can. They started shipping as well. Yum!
